L. Van't Hoff 69, quietly passed away at his home in Hospers Tuesday following several months illness caused by cancer. Funeral services will be held Friday April 10 at the Reformed Church of Hospers. Rev. Stegeman and Rev. Roetman, pastor of the Newkirk Church, will officiate. The remains will be laid to rest in the Hospers Cemetery.

L. Van't Hoff was born July 30, 1866, in the Netherlands. When he was but one year old his parents came to this country to make their home near Pella, Iowa. As a young man he came to Sioux County, takng up farming at Newkirk, where he lived until his retirement about ten years ago. Hospers has been his home since. On June 22, 1892, he married Allie Klein. To this union 8 children were born, all of whom with their mother, survive. The children are Gerrit, Sanborn,; Rev. William, Staten Island, N.Y.; Henry, Orange City; Louis, Newkirk; Arta, Mrs. Frank De Graaf; Albert, medical student at Iowa City; Bernard, Newkirk; and Harriet, Mrs. Raymond Wierda, Sioux Center. There are 9 grandchildren. A step-sister, Mrs. John Mouw, Orange City, also survives. Gerrit Klein, Sioux Center is a brother-in-law of the deceased.

Mr. Van't Hoff was a faithful member of the Hospers Reformed Church, where he worshipped regularly until his health would not permit.
