Mrs. Clara Vearrier, 90, resident of Hawarden 58 years, died Sunday, July 3, in the home of her son, following a long illness.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral Home with rev. S.A. Kruschwitz officiating. Miss Nellie Hatman, with Mrs. P.W. Peters as accompanist, sang "Be Still My Soul" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Alcester.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wallace, was born July 31, 1864, at Kingston, Ill.

Mrs. Vearrier lived with her parents at Kingston until at the age of 15 years when the family moved to Calliope. For some time they made their home in Alcester, S.D. and in Sloan, Iowa.

She married George Vearrier on January 3, 1887, at Canton, S.D. To this marriage one son, Jess Vearrier was born. Since the death of her husband on September 15, 1924, she had been making her home with her son and daughter-in-law at Hawarden.

Mrs. Vearrier was a member of the Hawarden Methodist church, the Royal neighbors and the Woodman Circle. In recent years she had not been able to be active in the affairs outside the home because of ailing health. She is survived by her son, Jess.
