Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Guy Van Zyl at the Newkirk Reformed Church with Rev. Wm. Vande Berg and Rev. Albert Van Dyk officiating. Burial was in Newkirk cemetery with Van Etten Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Van Zyl passed away at his home in Newkirk Sunday evening from a heart attack. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roel Van Zyl of Newkirk. He was married February 19,1914, to Minnie Harmelink, who survives him. They were the parents of five children, one of who died in infancy. The surviving children are Ralph of Newkirk, Herman of Montivedio, Minn. Fanny (Mrs. Jake Dekker) of Fulda, Minn. and Guy of Portland, Ore. There are nine grandchildren.
