Hawarden Independent August 7, 1947

Corwin, the 2 1/2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis F. Wynia, who resided northeast of Ireton, was accidently killed late last Wednesday afternoon, July 31, when run over by a tractor driven by his father.

Mr. Wynia was cutting alfalfa near the house when the tractor ran over the child. The youngster had been inside the house just a few minutes before the tragedy. He had slipped away and walked into a ditch which was weedy and was hidden from sight. The tractor went over the boy's chest. He was rushed to Sioux Center, but died before medical aid could be given.

There are two other children in the Wynia family, Frances, 7 years, and Nellie, 5 years.
