Pier W. Wynia, 47, of Rock Rapids, died Wednesday, April 4, in the Veterans Hospital at Sioux Falls of a lengthy illness.

Services were at 10:30am Saturday, April 7, in the Christian Reformed Church at Rock Rapids with the Rev. James Hoogeveen officiating. Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of the Van Ginkel Funeral Home.

Mr. Wynia was born July 31, 1931 at Rock Valley.

He married Joyce Van Pykeren February 4, 1953, at Hull. He farmed until 1975 when he retired because of poor health.

He was a Korean War veteran.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Kay and Lora, both of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Bill (Kathy) Bajema of Rock Valley; two sons, Dave of Sheldon and Dale at home; two sisters, Mrs. Art De Boer of Rock Valley and Mrs. Sam Altena of George and one brother, Henry of Rock Valley.
