Died: 12-4-1989Richard J. Wesselink, 35, of Des Moines and formerly of Rock Valley, died from a heart attack Monday, December 4, 1989 in Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.
He was born Dec. 11, 1953. He was graduated from Rock Valley High School and Westmar College. He was a salesman for Paxton Lumber Co. in Des Moines. He married Mary Jonker on Aug. 10. 1977 in Rock Valley.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Grant and one daughter, Gina, both at home; his parents; John and Jeannette Wesselink, Rock Valley; one brother, David, Rock Valley; and two sisters, Karen Vander Sluis, Rock Valley; and Audrey Vermilyca, Bloomington, Minn.
Services were held at 10:30am Friday, Dec. 8 in the First Reformed Church, Rock Valley, with burial in Valley View Cemetery.
Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.
