John Dale Wesselink, 69, Sanborn, died at his home Saturday, May 11.

Services were Tuesday, May 14, at First Presbyterian Church in Sanborn, with the Rev. Dale Fransson officiating. Burial was at Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn, under the direction of Sanborn Funeral Home.

John Wesselink, son of Joe and Mary (Sage) Wesselink, was born May 13, 1932, in Sheldon. He lived his youth and received his education in Sheldon. He married Evelyn Vanden Bosch on Dec. 17, 1953, in Boyden. They resided in Boyden, Hartley and Sheldon. They moved to Sanborn in 1955, where he was employed by Associated Milk Producers Inc. for 37 years.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sanborn, where he had served as an elder and deacon. Special interests included fishing, driving his pickup truck, reading, watching boxing and wrestling on TV and having coffee with his friends at Pronto. He also enjoyed teasing his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wesselink of Sanborn; his children, James and Nancy Wesselink of Sanborn, Kathy and Larry Genschorck of Sibley, Lisa and Robert Van Dyke of Sanborn, and Laura and Daryl Van Oort of Sanborn; 11 grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Harold Wesselink of Wapello; and a sister, Emma Foxhoven of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Julie Evonne Wesselink; a granddaughter, Paige Alexandria Van Oort; and a sister, Ardith French.
