Died: 10-25-1998Wilbert Raymond Winterfeld, 71, of Rock Valley died on Sunday, October 25, at the Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley.
Services will be on Wednesday at 2pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rock Valley, with the Rev. James Demke officiating. Visitation will be tonight, Tuesday, with the family present from 8:30 to 9:30pm at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
Winterfeld was born on May 28, 1927, in Plato Township, near Rock Valley, the son of Will and Louisa (Yunker) Winterfeld.
He married Emma Mouw on August 17, 1948, in Sioux Center. The couple farmed in the Rock Valley and Doon area. They managed their apartment house in Rock Valley since the early 1970's.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters and their husbands, Eloise and James Den Hartog of Worthington, Minnesota, Sandra and Curtis Wynia of Rock Rapids and Becky and David De Ruyter of Brookings, South Dakota; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
