Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls at 11am December 14 for Jerry Vander Schaaf, 60, of Sioux Falls, former Sioux Center resident, who died at his home December 10 after a short illness. Burial was at Sioux Falls.

Mr. Vander Schaaf was born October 16, 1913, near Lebanon.

He married Rosemary Canlinger. He had operated a service station in Sioux Falls for several years.

Survivors include the widow, a son, Robert Lee, stationed in Florida with the U.S. Army; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sylvia) Butts of Syracuse, Kansas; six brothers, Arthur of Stoney Plain, Alberta Canada, William of Custer, Richard of Colton, Simon of Rock Valley, Bert of Dalton City, Ill., John S. of Sioux Center; four sisters, Mrs. Jake Manfred of Duluth Minn., Mrs. John Brower of Doon, Mrs. Henry Helmer of West Liberty, and Mrs. James Zellenga of South Holland, Ill., and nine grandchildren.
