Tena Snyder Fuerst, 57 Sioux Falls and formerly of Rock Valley, died Tuesday, February 14, 1989 in Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls following a lengthy illness.

Tena Veenendaal was born June 25, 1931, in Norwalk, Calif. She moved to Rock Valley in the mid 1930's.

She married Frank Snyder in California. The couple lived in California until his death in 1970. She then moved to rural Rock Valley.

She married Helmuth Fuerst Feb. 11, 1976, in Howard. The couple lived in Alexandria, and later moved to Emery. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1985. Her husband died in 1988.

Survivors include three daughters; Darlene Snyder, Mitchell, Mrs. Sam (Bonnie) Maxwell, Dobbins, Calif.; and Cindy Redland, Wagner; two stepsons; Lyle Fuerst, Mitchell; and Leonard Fuerst, Sioux Falls; three step-daughters; Mrs. Keith (Irene) Rearick, Huron; Mrs. Keith (Delores) Sheffield, Mitchell; and Mrs. Bill (Lola) Potts, Houston; eight grandchildren; her mother, Anna Jones, Primghar, and two brothers; Henry Veenendaal, Primghar; and Alvin Jones, Elk River, Minn.

Services were held at 1:30pm Friday, Feb. 17 in Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. Burial was held in Valley View Cemetery.
