Kelly James Zomermaand, 23, of Struble died Friday, August 4, of an accidental drowning at the Le Mars Municipal Park.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 8, at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Le Mars with the Rev. Robert Drenten officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center.

Zomermaand was born May 14, 1972, in Orange City. He attended Orange City Christian Grade School through the third grade and then moved with his family to Little Fork, Minnesota. He completed his freshman year of high school there and graduated from Unity Christian High School at Orange City in 1990. He then worked as a farm employee and for the last three years had worked on the Mike Vander Windt farm.

Survivors include his parents, Henry and Sharon (De Jong) Zomermaand of Little Fork, Minnesota; his fiancee, Paulette Beukelman of Maurice; a brother, Timothy of Seoul, Korea; Maternal grandparents, Nellie and Sam De Jong of Orange City; parental grandparents, Gerrit and Johanna Zomermaand of Struble; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
