Nelva Joe, year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Zomermaand passed away Sunday morning, September 11, at the Lutheran Hospital in Sioux City. The baby had been ill for many months due to a serious heart disease and was in the hospital for about two weeks.

Surviving besides the parents are a brother, Garold Jene and a sister, Mary. Also the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Zomermaand of Rock Valley.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at one o’clock at the home and at 1:30 o’clock at the Second Christian Reformed Church. Rev. B.J. Haan officiated at the services, in the absence of Rev. Breuker who is out of town.

The baby’s funeral was held on the day which would have been her first birthday anniversary.
