Funeral services for Egbert Zomermaand, 91, former Rock Valley area resident, were held in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center Thursday, July 25.
The Rev. Clarence Vander Plate officiated. Interment was in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery.

Mr. Zomermaand died in the Sioux Center Community Hospital last Tuesday morning.

Mr. Zomermaand, the son of Egbert Zomermaand and Lummega Wobben, was born in Drantha, The Netherlands, February 19, 1872.

He and two sisters, Anna Rozoboom and Jennie De Leeuw, came to the United States in 1893. Mr. Zomermaand lived in Colorado for a time before moving to the Rock Valley area where he resided many years before moving to Sioux Center. He was married to Nellie Van Voorst, August 28, 1907.

Survivors include ten daughters; Hermina, Mrs. Maas Van Beek; Lucy, Mrs. Case Van De Wege; Jennie, Mrs. Herbert Koel; Henrietta, Mrs. Oepke Niemeyer; Annie; Nellie; Alice; Rolena, Mrs. William Wissink; Albertha, Mrs. Case Van Hofwegen; Hattie, Mrs. John Boeve; Five sons, Egbert Jr., Hudson; Richard, Sioux Center; Henry, Maurice; Gerrit, Struble and John, Holland; 49 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;
