Hattie Woudstra, 97, of Orange City died Tuesday, September 15, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M. Friday at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Woudstra was born January 18, 1901, in Hospers, the daughter of Arie J. and Mattie (Rietsma) Kreykes. She married James Woudstra February 21, 1924, in Hospers

The couple made their home in Orange City, where she was a homemaker. They entered the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City in 1982. He died April 1, 1983, in Orange City. She entered the Heritage House in 1995.

She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she belonged to Faith, Hope and Love Society and Dutch Society.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Alfred and June of Orange City; four daughters, Sally and her husband John De Groot of Hull, Marilyn Kroeze of Orange City, Sylvia and her husband Dick Veltkamp of Inwood and Joyce and her husband Bernard Vande Griend of Doon; a daughter-in-law, Vernell Woudstra of Orange City; 24 grandchildren; and 59 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Elmer Wiersema of Orange City.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Leroy; two sons-in-law, Gary Kroeze and Percy Vander Tuig; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, William, Joe, and John Kreykes; and two sisters, Jeanetta Wiersema and Stella Verbrugge.
