Theodore (Ted) Woudstra, 86, of Hospers, died Monday, July 29, 1991 at a Sioux City Hospital after a short illness.

Services were held Thursday, August 1, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hospers. Dr. Richard Venema officiated. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery under direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Hospers.

Mr. Woudstra was born June 8, 1905 at Wolvega, The Netherlands. He was the son of Lolke and Rinske (Bouma) Woudstra. He came to America in 1920 when he was fifteen. He married Dora Zylstra February 8, 1933 in Sheldon. The couple farmed in Minnesota before coming to Hospers in 1946 when they brought the Verschoor Meat Market. He was also a well known cattle buyer for many years.

Mr. Woudstra was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and served on the consistory.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Leland Woudstra of Hospers and Mrs. Allen (Donna) Vander Veen of Sanborn; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a twin brother, Ike Woudstra of Sheldon.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Theodore, and a brother, Jim Woudstra
