Marvin Winterfeld, 77, of Garretson, South Dakota, formerly of Sioux Center, died Tuesday, January 29, in a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Services were at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 2 in Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson. The Rev. Wayne Meidinger officiated. Burial was in West Palisade Cemetery, rural Garretson. Visitation was after 11 A.M. Friday, February 1 in the Minnehaha Funeral Home at Garretson.

Mr. Winterfeld was born July 12, 1907, on a farm near Sioux Center. He married Lou Taylor July 12, 1927. They farmed in the Sherman and Garretson, South Dakota area until 1946 when they moved to Garretson. He worked with an electrical company until his retirement. Mrs. Winterfeld died April 9, 1980. He had been a resident of Palisade Manor in Garretson since 1981.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Verland (Marvalyn) Rollag of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; four brothers, Lawrence of Chicago, Henry and Rudolph, both of Sioux Falls and Elmer of Sioux Center; three grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
