Henry Winterfeld, 90, of Sioux Falls and formerly of Rock Valley died Sunday, January 5, at Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls.

Services were 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, at Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley with the Rev. James Demke officiating. Burial was in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Sioux Center.

Winterfeld was born July 28, 1901, in rural Rock Valley. He worked in Rock Valley a few years before becoming a machinist at a factory in Oakland, California. He retired in 1968 and moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. He married Juanita Karasek February 24, 1969 in Rapid City. The couple moved to the Good Samaritan Center December 29, 1991.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Rudy Winterfeld of Sioux Falls and Elmer Winterfeld of rural Sioux Center; and nieces and nephews.

Mr Winterfeld was born July 28, 1901, in rural Rock Valley, the son of Henry F. and Amelia (Rentschler) Winterfeld. He worked in Rock Valley a few years before becoming a machinist at a factory in Oakland, California. In 1968 he retired and moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. He married Juanita Karasek February 24, 1969, in Rapid City. The couple moved to Sioux Falls in 1973. He moved to the Good Samaritan Center December 29, 1991.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Rudy Winterfeld of Sioux Falls and Elmer Winterfeld of rural Sioux Center; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Matilda Schlumbohm, Linda Claussen and Clara Schlumbohm; and three brothers, Louis, Lawrence and Marvin.
