Lawrence C. Winterfeld, 83, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois and formerly of Rock Valley, died Saturday, August 23, 1986 in a hospital at Glenview, Illinois.

Mr. Winterfeld was born April 16, 1903, in Plato Township, Sioux County, Iowa. He was educated in the Plato Township school system, and was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church. He married Inez Docken on September 28, 1932, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He farmed at Garretson, South Dakota before working in a commission firm in the Sioux Falls Stockyards. The couple later moved to Rock Valley where he was a hog buyer. In 1941, they moved to Chicago where he was a precision machinist until his retirement. The couple moved to Buffalo Grove ten years ago.

He was active in the Buffalo Grove Senior Citizens and Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Seniors Club.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Arlen H. Winterfeld of Buffalo Grove; one daughter, Wanda Walker of Park Ridge, Illinois; three brothers, Henry and Rudolph, both of Sioux Falls, and Elmer of Sioux City; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Services and burial were held Tuesday, August 26, in Illinois.
