Died: 12-20-1957

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in orange City Monday for Ed De Jager, 81, life-long resident of Sioux county and retired farmer, who died at the Grossmann hospital at Orange City Friday following a few days illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. H. Colenbrander and burial was made at Orange City.

Mr. De Jager was born September 7, 1876, at Alton, the son of Hessel De Jager and Grace Vellinga De Jager.

He was married March 16, 1900 to Minnie Jansma.

They farmed in the Maurice and Orange City areas until 1930 when they moved to Orange City.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Pierce, of Orange City; three daughters, Grace (Mrs. John C. Muyskens) of Hospers, Mildred (Mrs. Vernon Schoep) of Orange City and Lois (Mrs. Ivan Stienstra) of Spence; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Peter of Rock Valley, Martin and Ring of Orange City.

One daughter, a sister and two brothers preceded him death.
