Andrew De Jager, 78, Rock Valley, died Thursday in a hospital at Rock Valley of a brief illness.

Services were at 10:30am Saturday in the First Reformed Church at Rock Valley. The Rev. Gordon Bloemendaal officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Mr. De Jager was born May 2, 1903, at Maurice. He married Marie Schouten Jan. 2, 1925, at Luverne, Minn. They farmed in the Rock Valley and Hudson, S.D., areas until retiring in 1968.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Vern of Rock Valley and Andrew Jr. of Yankton, S.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Cooper of Sioux City, Mrs. Arthur Gerritson of Rock Valley, and Mrs. Clifford Van Berkum of Sioux City; four brothers, Albert and Raymond, both of Maurice, William of Orange, Calif., and Elmer of Norwalk, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Harriet Spinkelink of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
