Roger "Rocky" De Zeeuw, 69, of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Sioux Center, died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005 at his residence.

Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 10:30 a.m., at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley was in charge of arrangements.

Roger was born Oct. 20, 1935, in Sioux Center, the son of Andrew & Alida (Berghuis) De Zeeuw. He attended country school near Sioux Center and graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1953.

Roger married Judy Kooima in 1958.

He held a variety of jobs over the years including, mutual Telephone Co., machining, building grain bins, managing elevators in Rock Valley and Doon, selling Morton Buildings, trucking, gardening and farming.

Roger enjoyed visiting, drinking coffee and telling stories.

Survivors include two daughters, Robin (Floyd) Te Slaa of Rock Valley and Kelly (Steve) Van't Hof of Sioux Center; two grandchildren, Molly Te Slaa and Saumuel Van't Hof; two brothers, John (Ella) De Zeeuw of Hull and Earl (Lila) De Zeeuw of Orion, Ill; two sisters, Esther Vermeer of Ireton and Ruth (Jake) De Jong of Okoboji; a brother-in-law, Maurice (Hilly) Vande Berg of Orange City, and a special friend, Mary Ann Peterson of Sioux Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Judy; sisters Norma Vande Berg and Vera and her husband, William Taylor, and a brother-in-law, Gerrit Vermeer.
