Mrs. Christine Wictor Wiltgen died at her home at Granville Tuesday evening, April 27, at the age of 84 years and 5 months.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Grandville Friday morning at 9 o'clock.

Born at Port Washington, Wis., she spent her childhood there and later taught school and was church organist for many years at Defiance, Ohio, and Ossian, Iowa. On July 13, 1875, she was married to Theodore Wiltgen at Ossian where they lived for several years, later moving to Epiphany, S.D. They came to Granville in May 1888, where Mrs. Wiltgen started a millinery and dressmaking business. Later on she conducted a very successful variety store until 1921. Her husband was a blacksmith.

Her kind and cheerful disposition won her many friends far and near and she was ever ready to help the sick and needy. Mrs. Wiltgen was a most faithful and active member of St. Joseph's parish and Mother society. Although somewhat feeble the last few years, she was always busy and did beautiful crocheting until taken ill with pneumonia last Christmas-time. At that time her life was despaired of for several weeks but she improved enough to be up and around a little until suddenly stricken with a brain hemorage, Sunday night.

Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Peter ???? (unreadable), Alton, Iowa, Miss Antonia at home; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Wictor of Remsen. Her husband and 5 children around here. Mrs. H.C. Graff.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic church at Granville Friday morning at 9 o'clock.
