Hawarden Independent May 10, 1956

Fred Trudeau, 81, of Alcester, Hawarden resident for 18 years, died Sunday at a Sioux Falls hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Trudeau was born, December 18, 1874, near Elk Point. He married Edith Seguen of west of Hawarden. SHe died in 1943.

During the many years of the family's residence in this vicinity the children attended St. Mary's school here. Twenty two years ago they moved to a farm in the Alcester vicinity.

He is survived by three sons, Freeman of Greenbelt, MD. and Leander and Leonard, both of Alcester; five daughters, Mrs. Rose Hoard of Centerville, S.D., Mrs. Evertt Coyle of Akron, Mrs. John Patterson of Sherman Oaks, Calif. Mrs. Milton Toft of Inglewood, Calif., and Mrs. Earl St. Pierre of Alcester; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Beresford, S.D. at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning, Rev. Fr. O'Connor officiating. Burial was at the Elk Point Cemetery.
