John Soodsma, 75, of Hull died Monday, October 18 at his home after a brief illness.

Services were at 1:30pm Friday in the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Marvin Heyboer officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery. Family visitation was from 7:30 to 8:30 pm Thursday in the Kraai Funeral Home at Hull.

Mr. Soodsma was born July 13, 1907, at Prairie View, Kan. and moved to Hull at the age of 15.

He married Coba Groen March 6, 1936, at Hull. She died in 1962. He farmed in the Hull area until 1963 when he retired and moved into town.

Mrs. Soodsma was a member and former deacon and elder of the First Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include one brother, Henry of Hull and three sisters, Mrs. Tom (Clara) Feenstra of Sibley, Mrs. Clarence (Mabel) Koele and Mrs. Edward (Irma) Scholten, both of Hull.
