Peter Soodsma, Jr., 90, of Hull, died Monday, March 1, at Fellowship Village in Inwood. Services were Wednesday, March 3, at Hope Christian Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Roger Bouwman of First Christian Reformed Church officiating. Burial was at Hope Cemetery in Hull.

Soodsma was born on January 25, 1903, at Prairie View, Kansas, the son of Jacob and Anna (Kats) Soodsma. He was raised in Kansas. As a young man, he worked as a farmhand at Carnes.

On February 23, 1937, he married Jennie Ten Harmsel at Hull. They farmed at Hull until 1967, when they retired into town. In September 1990, they became residents of Fellowship Village, Inwood.

He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Hull.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons. James F. Soodsma and his wife, Mary, of Mound Valley, Kansas, and Clifford J. Soodsma, and his wife, Joanne, of Sioux Center; two daughters, Mary A. Moss of Orange City and Rosalie J. Soodsma of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren; Mark Moss, of Ocoee, Tennessee; Hazel and her husband, Randy Bogaard, Of Pella; Steven Soodsma of Tulsa Oklahoma; Paul Soodsma of Kansas City, Missouri; and Gwen Soodsma of Sioux Center; a Great-grandson, Brett Bogaard; and a brother, John Soodsma, of Phillipsburg, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; son-in-law, harold Moss; two brothers; and four sisters.
