Mrs. Mavis F. Sorgdrager, 43, died Saturday at the Orange city Municipal Hospital following a lingering illness.

Services were held Tuesday, April 17 at 1:30pm in the First Christian Reformed Church, Orange City. Rev. Thomas C. Vanden Heuvel officiated. Burial was in LeMars Memorial Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Mrs. Sorgdrager was born June 25, 1940, at LeMars, the daughter of Orville and Fern Chapman Cooper. She was a secretary for LeMars Mutual Insurance for many years and retired due to illness five years ago, at which time she moved to Orange City.

She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Leon (Judy) De Jong, Miss Barbara Sorgdrager and Miss Donna Sorgdrager; a son, Jerry, all of Orange City and one brother, Marvin Cooper of Orange City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister.

Mavis F. Sorgdrager, 43, of Orange City died Saturday in an Orange City hospital after a long illness.
