Edna A. Winterfeld, 95, of Hawarden died Wednesday, January 8, at the Hawarden Community Hospital.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 13, at American Lutheran Church of Hawarden with the Rev. Karla Kirkeby officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Winterfeld was born October 29, 1901, near Gladbrook, Iowa, the daughter of Julius H. and Caroline (Laufert) Rehder. She moved to Hawarden as a child and attended rural school in Garfield Township. She married Theodore Winterfeld on June 4, 1924, in rural Sioux Center. They farmed near Sioux Center for 38 years. He died April 16, 1959. She moved to Hawarden in 1962.

She had been a member of Peace Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, the Rural Study Club, and the Mothers Club. She presently was a member of American Lutheran Church . She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

Survivors include five sons and their wives, Julius and Joann, Edwin and Phyllis, Carroll and Betty, all of Ireton, Merlyn and Doris of Ogden and Duane and Marlene of Sioux Center; a daughter and her husbnd, Marlene and La Rue Wegner of Slayton, Minnesota; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was prededed in death by a brother Albert; a brother in infancy and a great-grandson.
