Rolena Vande Vegte, 91, of Rock Valley died Sundau, October 21, at Valley Manor, Rock Valley.

Funeral services were at 1:30pm Wednesday at First Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley, with the Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating. Burial was at Valley view Cemetery, Rock Valley.

Mrs. Vande Vegte was born January 16, 1910, at Rock Valley, the daughter of John and Hentje (Bouhof) Driesen. She married Henry Vande Vegte on April 25, 1935, at Rock Valley. The couple farmed on several farms near Rock Valley. He died July 30, 1961. She moved to Rock Valley and worked at Valley Manor since its beginning in October 1963 until her retirement in 1960.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Norman and Geraldine Vande Vegte of Inwood and John and Judy Vande Vegte of Rock Valley; a daughter and her husband, Helen and Arie Byl of Sioux Center; a son-in-law and his wife, Art and Anita Van Ravenhorst of Sioux Center; two sisters-in-law, Nellie De Kruyf of Sioux Center and Florence Driesen of Orange City; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Mary Ann and Marilyn Mae; a daughter, Mary Ann Van Ravenhorst; two brothers, John and Tony Driesen; and one sister, Johanna Hop.
