Ivan Owen Manning, 79, of Rock Valley died Thursday, November 22 at his residence.

Services were at 10:30am Monday in the Pioneer United Methodist Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. Ron Johnson officiated. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery, Sunday at the Porter Funeral Home, masonic services were held at 7pm and family visitation from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.

Mr. Manning was born May 2, 1905 in Smithland. He attended grade school in Fairview S.D. He graduated from high school in Canton, S.D. He attended Dakota Wesleyan College in Mitchell S.D.

He married Lucille DePree March 4, 1942 in Orange City. He managed the Farmers Elevator Company in Rock Valley from 1927 to 1978. He was a member of the Pioneer United Methodist Church, the Rotary Club and was a 50-year lodge Mason with membership in Abu Bekr Shrine, Consistory, and Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Tom of Austin, Texas; one brother, Meredith, of San Jose Calif. and four grandchildren.
