Granville, Aug. 21, Michael Marx a resident of Granville for nearly a fourth of a century, was found dead in his bed Monday morning. He had been ailing about two years his trouble being cancer of the stomach but he was around town as usual twelve hours before his lifeless body was found by his daughter Josephine, when she went to his room to call him for breakfast Monday morning. He was lying in a natural position, indicating that he had died without a struggle.

Mr. Marx was a carpenter and although suffering great pain from his malady he bore his affliction bravely and continued working at his trade until a few weeks ago.

Deceased was born in Luxembourg, Europe, 55 years ago, and located in Granville immediately upon his arrival in America. His two oldest sons and Mrs. Marx came with him. Eight other children, three sons and five daughters, have been added to the family, all of whom survive him. Mrs. Marx died about six years ago.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from St. Joseph's church, conducted by Rev. Father Gerlemar. A large concourse of people testified to their respect and esteem for the dead citizen and his children by accompanying his remains to their last resting place.
