Henrietta Mantel, 75, of Doon died Wednesday at the home of her daughter in Doon.

Services were held at 11:00am Saturday in the Protestant Reformed Church in Doon. The Rev. Marvin Kamps officiated.

Mrs. Mantel, the former Henrietta De Jong, was born Nov. 15, 1909 in Perkins. She married Jacob Mantel Feb. 15, 1934, at Orange City. The couple farmed in Lyon County. In 1956 they moved to Redlands, Calif. where he was an orchard farm manager. They returned to Doon in 1982, Mr. Mantel died March 21, 1983.

She was a member of the Protestant Reformed Church.

Survivors include one son, Jacob of Redlands; four daughters, Mrs. Stan (Grace) Surma and Mrs. Don (Mary Ann) Aardema, both of Doon, Mrs. Arnie (Iona) Reid of Lumberton, Miss., and Mrs. Thomas (Lois) Elzinga of Zeeland, Mich.; two brothers, Thomas I of Orange City and Gilbert of Alton; five sisters, Mrs. Tim (Elsie) Bruxvoort of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Ted (Nellie) Hengeveld of Alton, Mrs. Peter (Jeanette) Bylsma of Orange City, Gertrude De Jong of Holland, Mich. and Mrs. Henry (Irene) Smeenk of Grandville, Mich.; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
