Mrs. Gertie (DeWeerd) Deiters passed away early Saturday morning at the age of 73 years, six months, 13 days. Mrs. Deiters was born in Holland Michigan, and was married in Sioux Center to Herman Deiters who preceded her in death on August 11, 1941. Their entire married life was spent in Sioux Center with the exception of a few years at Hull, Iowa,

Mrs. Deiters is survived by ten children, who are: (Allie) Mrs. Ben Poll, (Stena) Mrs. Rich Rozeboom, (Gertrude) Mrs. Rich Juffer, all of Sioux Center, Larry of St. Paul, Minn.; Lutz of Wisconsin; (Helen) Mrs. Ed Fischer of Muskegon Heights, Mich., (Stephena) Mrs. Henry Addink of Muskegon Heights, Mich.; (Henrietta) Mrs. Walter Hughs of Springfield, Ill.; Herman of Fremont, Mich., and Harold of Ireton. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren among them Norman and Muriel Deiters who made their home with her following the death of their mother, and three great-grandchildren. One son John preceded her in death on August 25, 1943.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 11 at 1:00 at Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home and 1:30 at Central Reformed Church, with Rev. P. A. DeJong officiating. Pallbearers were Bernard Wierda, Henry Kroon, Marvin Wierda, Wm. Kroon, Reynold Wierda, Gt. G. Rozeboom. Burial took place in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery.
