Jennie M. Bouma, 88 of Orange City passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2005 at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. David Heilman officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday, with family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Jennie Marjorie "Jen" was born May 29, 1917, in Orange City, the daughter of Dick and Gertrude (Korver) Reinsma. She was raised in Orange City.

On Sept. 6, 1939, she married Ralph Bouma in Orange City. They made their home in Orange City, where she was a homemaker and also assisted her husband with his Watkins Products distributorship. He passed away April 14, 1988, in Sioux City. In the spring of 1998 she became a resident of Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. In December 1998, she transferred to the Heritage House.

She was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and participated in the women's activities. She also was a vocalist for special occasions, singing solos and duets with her brother. She was active in the Monica Society in Orange City and the couple enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Rose and Merl Alons of Sun City, Ariz.; three sons and their wives, Gerry and Donna Bouma of Sioux City and Ron and Ruth Bouma and Glenn and Barb Bouma all of Orange City; 11 grandchildren and spouses, Debra and Eric Morgan, Monique and Bruce Kuiper, Jason and Michelle Alons, Tonya and Dave Archer, Caron Bouma, Brooke and Travis Finn, Troy and Tanya Bouma, Ross and Angie Bouma, Janna and Kevin Van Donge, Darci and Brian Wassenaar and Jill and Brandon Haan; 13 great grandchildren, Benjamin and Lindsay Kuiper, Kaelin, Emily and Maggie Alons, Tanner and Brayden Hoops, David and Paige Finn, James and Jenna Bouma and Austin and Jacob Van Donge; a brother and his wife, John and Reona Reinsma of Woodland Park, Colo.; a sister Fran Duven of Sioux Center, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Dolly Reinsma and Hattie Vander Heide.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Alons; four sisters, Sophie Reinsma, Wilhelmina Woudstra, Jeanette Docter, and Martina Kreykes; and two brothers, the Rev. William Reinsma and Jerry Reinsma.

Memorials may be directed to Unity Christian High School in Orange City.
