Funeral services for M Edward Bolluyt were held Monday at the American Reformed Church. Rev. Alvin Hook officiated. Burial was in Orange City Cemetery.

M Bolluyt died last Thursday of cancer at her home in Alton after an illness of five years. She was 52 years old at the time of her death.

Survivors include the widower; four children at home, Elizabeth, 16, James, 13, David, nearly 12, and Jan, nearly 11; a step-son Mark Bolluyt of Yankton, S. D.; two brothers, Henry J. Te Paske of Orange City and Bernard A. Te Paske of Teheran, Iran; and a sister Joanna Raak of New York City.

Pallbearers at the funeral Monday were C. E. Balkema, Wayland Breese, Ellsworth De Jong, Robert Van Roekel, William Schalekamp and William Top.

M Bolluyt was born at Orange City on Oct. 7, 1906, the daughter of Herman Te Paske and Agatha Vander Aarde Te Paske. She attended Orange City schools, graduating from the public high school in 1924, and taught in a rural school nearby for two years.

Following the death of her mother in 1927, she assumed much of the responsibility of he home, continuing in that role until her younger brother and sister were grown -- and through the death of her father in 1937 and her grandmother in 1941. Meanwhile, she had been attending college on a part-time basis, as possible, and had received her Bachelor degree from Morningside College at Sioux City in 1935.

She was married to Edward Bolluyt on Christmas Day, 1941. The couple have lived in Alton since that time.

M Bolluyt was organist for the American Reformed church and taught music on a part-time basis at Northwestern College for 7 years. She was a member of the AAGO, American Organists Guild , and was director of the Sioux County Concert Association.
