Edmund E. LaVelle, 69, of St. James, Minn., died Tuesday, November 4, at a hospital in Mankato, Minn.

Services were at 10:30am Thursday om the St. James Catholic Church at St. James. The Rev. James Lennon officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery at Struble under direction of the Jansen Funeral Home of St. James.

Mr. LaVelle was born Nov. 9, 1910, at Maurice. He taught in public schools in Iowa until the early 1940s when he moved to St. James. He was employed by a food processing firm in quality control work at St. James.

He married Catherine O'Meara June 12, 1939 at Hawarden.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and several food processing associations.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Daniel of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Steve of Burnsville, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Linda) Adamowicz of Lombard, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Loretta Schroeder of LeMars; a brother, Marc of Worthington, Minn., and two grandchildren.
