Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) for Henry N. Vande Vegte, 53, of Rock Valley at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home and at the First Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley.

Mr. Vande Vegte passed away at the Sioux Valley hospital in Sioux Falls Sunday as the result of lockjaw (tetanus) with which he had been hospitalized for four weeks. The infection was the result of a scratch on his leg.

He was born January 7, 1908 and married Roelena Driessen April 25, 1935. Two children preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Norman of Inwood and John at home, and three daughters at home, Helen, Ruth and Mary Ann; five sisters and one brother and one grandchild.
