Edward Doherty died Saturday morning after injuries sustained in an automobile accident Friday morning.

Mr. Doherty was riding with Mr. Edwards of the soil Conservation office when they struck a slippery chuck hole in front of H. Roorda Sr. home in Rock Valley. The car tipped over causing injuries to both men. Mr. Doherty's back and neck were broken and he was paralyzed from the chest down. He was taken to Dr. A.L. Lack's office and from there to the Hull hospital where he passed away.

Edward Doherty was born at Rock Valley, 52 years, 8 months and 10 days when death came January 30, 1937. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, and two sons, Bernard who graduated last year and Frank who graduates this year. He leaves three sisters Mrs. Mayme Walpole, Miss Josephine of Rock Valley and Mrs. Lester Ryan of Kansas City. The relatives from out of town were an aunt Mrs. Neil Doherty of Marcus, Iowa, his sister Mrs. Lester Ryan of Kansas City and Miss Josephine who had been spending the winter in Kansas City, Mrs. . Scott Kemp of Sioux Falls, S.D., a sister of the widow.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church in Rock Valley by Rev. Father Buckholtz of Alvord, Iowa and burial took place in the family plot in St. Mary's cemetery on Monday morning.
