Geneva D. Bomgaars, 68, of Orange City died Wednesday, August 15, at her residence after a long illness.

Services were at ten-thirty A.M. Saturday, August 18, at Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Donald De Glopper officiating. Burial was in Capel Township Cemetery in Middleburg.

The former Geneva Den Herder was born December 23, 1921, in rural Sioux Center. She was raised at Sioux Center. She married Bernard Bomgaars at Sioux Center, February 28, 1941. They farmed in the Middleburg and Rock Rapids areas until 1971, when they moved to Orange City. She then became a cook for Maurice-Orange City Community Schools, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church and of the Ladies’ Bible Study group.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Carol Noteboom and Glenda Schiebout of Orange City and Lois Kuehl of Rock Rapids; seven sons, Arnold of Rochester, Minnesota, Vernon of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Earl, Gerald and Wayne, all of Orange City, Norman of Sioux Center and Lowell of Kearney, Nebraska; her parents, Henry and Etta Den Herder of Sioux Center; three sisters, Dorothy Wynia and Joan Van Riesen, both of Sioux Center, and Ruth Kosters of Sioux City; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Sioux County Cancer Society.
