Mrs. Rena Bomgaars, 82, of Orange City, passed away Tuesday April 12, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Rena was born April 25, 1905 at Orange City, the daughter of Henry Den Hartog and Gertrude Kass Den Hartog. On January 7, 1926, she married William W. Bomgaars at Middleburg. They farmed near Maurice until 1965 when they moved into town. Mr. Bomgaars passed away March 2, 1973 at Maurice.

In January of 1981, Mrs. Bomgaars became a resident of the Heritage House in Orange City. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Maurice and in earlier years had been active in the organizations of the church.

Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Gerard (Adrianna) Mulder and Mrs. John (Gertrude) Kamies, both of Orange City; two sons, William Jr. of LeMars and Howard of Maurice; six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and sister, Mrs. Ed (Marie) Vreugdenhil of Sioux City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Gerrit Den Hartog and two sisters, Ann Den Ouden and Grace Vlietstra.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 15, at the First Reformed Church in Maurice with the Rev. Kenneth Westrate officiating. Interment followed at Sherman Township Cemetery near Maurice, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
