Mrs. Nellie Bomgaars, 90, of Sioux Center died Monday, January 12, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were held Thursday, January 15, at the First Reformed Church of Hull. The Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiating. Burial was held in the Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.

Nellie was born October 13, 1896 at Orange City, the daughter of Jacob Schalekamp and Jennie Slikkerveer Schalekamp.

On January 30, 1920 she married Joe N. Bomgaars at Orange City. They farmed at Hull until 1954, when they retired to Rock Valley. In 1957 they moved to Hull. Mr. Bomgaars died February 6, 1963 at Hull. In 1979, Mrs. Bomgaars moved to Sioux Center. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Hull and the Martha Circle of Reformed Church Women.

Survivors include her three sons, Nick J. of Sioux Center; and Jake and Joe Jr., both of Hull; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. William (Geneva) Van Sloten and Muriel Mae, one great-grandson, and two sisters.
