Funeral services for James Hadden Treneman, 84, former owner of the Sioux County Capital, died Oct. 14 in McMinnville, Ore. Services will be held Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. at Hillside Manor, McMinnville, Ore., by Rev. Phillip Martin of the First Presbyterian Church.

Born Dec. 22, 1901, in Ottumwa to James J. and Rose Hadden Treneman, he had been residing at Hillside Manor.

Mr. Treneman was reared and schooled in Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1925.

He married Grace Dyke in Iowa City on June 2, 1925.

From 1934 to 1954 he operated the only English and Dutch newspaper in the United States, the Sioux County Capital. He moved to Newport, Wash., in 1954 where he was associated with the Newport Miner newspaper. He move to McMinnville in 1984.

A life member and worker in the Republican party, he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Newport.

Mr. Treneman was preceded in death by his wife in July of 1985 and a son, Dr: James D. Treneman, a former McMinnville physician, in 1977.

Survivors include brothers Bill Treneman, Ottumwa, Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Bob Treneman, Jonesboro, Ark., a sister, Alice Thompson, Ottumwa, a daughter-in-law, Beverly A. Treneman, McMinnville, four grandchildren and two great grand-children.

Memorials are being made to the Dr. James D. Treneman Medical School Scholarship Fund and the Hillside Manor Memorial Fund.
