Willis J. Van Den Top, 36, of Hull was dead on arrival at a Sioux Falls, S.D. Hospital, Tuesday, August 18, 1987 of injuries suffered in a traffic accident west of Sheldon Monday August 17.

Services were held at 11 am Saturday, August 22, in the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. William Renkema officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery visitation was held in the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Mr. Van Den Top was born July 21, 1951 at Canton, S.D. He graduated from Boyden-Hull Community High School in 1969 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. On June 27, 1970, he married Lois Sikma at Hull. The couple made their home in Hull where he was employed by KO Manufacturing and later by Hope Haven in Rock Valley. Since 1981 he had been purchasing agent for Kooima Manufacturing Division of Hayes-Albion Corporation of Rock Valley.

Mr. Van Den Top was a member of First Christian Reformed Church where he had served as deacon and elder and was involved in the education department of the church. He was an active member of the Hull EMT.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kimberley, Amanda and Desiree, all at home; his parents, Willem and Jeanette Van Den Top of Rock Valley; six sisters, Mrs. Wilmar (Betty) Pollema of Hull, Mrs. Bruce (Jane) Aning of Rock Rapids, Mrs. Ronald (Joyce) Maassen and Mrs. Larry (Judy) Dokter, both of Boyden, Mrs. Rodney (Gloria) Dibbet of Sioux Center and Mrs. Daryl (Darlene) Maassen of Doon, and two brothers, Elden and Darryl, both of Rock Valley.
