Mrs. G. Van Reulder passed away at her home here on Tuesday afternoon. Deceased was seventy years of age and had been seized with a stroke of paralysis on Monday. She was born in Holland at Koortwyk and there she was untied in marriage to Hendrikus Mouw. They came to this country about forty years ago and arriving in Sioux county they settled on the farm north of this place. Of the children born to them the following survive their mother. Cornelius of Alton, John and Mrs. Van Surksum who reside in Minnesota, and Mrs. De Kraai at Denver. Some years after the death of her husband Mrs. Mouw was untied in marriage to G. Van Reulder who passed away a few years ago. The three children born to them are Mrs. H. Roelofs of Minnesota and Mrs. C. Pals and Walter of this city. The funeral will be hald this Friday afternoon and conducted by Rev. Timmermannn of the Christian Reformed church.

(From the Sioux County Marriage records Gerrit Van Reulder 35, married Heintje Mouw 36 on Oct 19, 1878 at the brides residence by Rev. J. W. Warnshuis . It is assumed from these accounts the Hendrikus Mouw born 1836 died a few years after coming to Sioux County. In the April 13, 1875 Sioux County Herald it states the Hendricus had his taxes both personal and real abated, given credence to the fact that he couldn’t pay possibly as a result of illness. So it is assumed he died between 1875 and 1877. To date Hendricus’s death was not found in the records or newspapers of the time. )
