Audry Puhl, 79, of Chatsworth, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at her home in Chatsworth.
The former Audrey Schmitz was born March 23, 1922, at Vilas, S.D., the daughter of Michael and Mary (Wagner) Schmitz. Her family moved to Currie, Minn., in 1936. On Sept. 11, 1954, she married Vincent Puhl. They farmed near Chatsworth until 1975 when the moved into Chatsworth.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden. She was involved in Ladies' Guild and church choir.
Audry enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, gardening and remodeling projects with her children.
Survivors include her husband Vincent; eight children, Jerome and Judy Puhl of Chatsworth, Patrick and Joyce (Puhl) Toben of Akron, Clarence and Linda Puhl of Kingsley, Kenneth Puhl and special friend, Sharon Variden Brink of Chatsworth, Clifford and Irene Puhl of Chatsworth, Mark and Kelly Puhl of Le Mars, Marv and Mary Jean (Puhl) Weyen of Chatsworth, and Kurt and Rita (Puhl) Haage of Akron; a brother, Norbert Schmitz of Currie, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Marie Schmitz of Le Mars and Beatrice Schmitz of Marshall, Minn.; and 24 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Herman, Leo, Lawrence and Gordon; and three sisters, Luelle Andert, Clara Hoffman and Delores Sieve.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden with the Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens and the Rev. Michael Schmitz con-celebrating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today (Thursday) at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at St. Mary Catholic Church.
