Alton Democrat of April 15, 1905

A peculiarly sad death occurred at Alton Wednesday evening. Mrs. Bertha Lamberson died on a cot in the express car of the evening train from the east. Deceased had been living at Germantown an inland hamlet between Granville and Paullina and was suffering with tuberculosis of the esophagus. A year ago she and her husband moved to Germantown from Sioux City hoping that the country atmosphere would benefit her health. He is a painter by name of Andrew Lamberson.

Recently both have been ill and in hard circumstances. Deceased was being taken to the hospital in Sioux City by her brother in law Sam Mader of Granville and Dr. Ream of the same place. Dr. Ream was acting on behalf of Dr. Dudley of Paullina who had been treating her. The body was prepared for burial at the local undertakers and taken to Paullina Friday. Deceased was about forty years old.
