Ireton Funeral For Dick Van Wyhe Saturday
Funeral services for Dick Van Wyhe, 77, of Norwalk, California, were hold Saturday, November 18, at the Ireton Christian Reformed church. A prayer service was held at 1:00 p. m. in the church basement with funernl services at 1:30 in the church auditorium. Burial was in the Ireton cemetery.
Pallbearers were John W. Van Wyhe, George Bultman, Gordon Van Wyhe, Donald Van Wyhe, Philip Van Wyhe, and Lester Van Muyden, all nephews of the deceased.
Mr. Van Wyhe died November 14 at Norwalk.
He was the son of John W. Van Wyhe and Gertrude Ruisch. He was married to Hattie Van Muyden.
Survivors include three children, Mrs.Elmer De Jager (Grace), Mrs. Floyd Hill (Mildred), and Wendell, all of Norwalk, California; four brothers, John, Bryan and Pete, all of Ireton, and William of Hawarden; one sister, Mrs. John Bultman of Akron, and six grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, two brothers, Gerrit of Ireton and Lambert of Sioux Center, and one sister, Mrs. William Pikaart of Ireton.
Poster's note: According to another copy of the obituary from an unknown newspaper, Dick Van Wyhe married Hattie Van Muyden on January 17, 1917. She died in 1936.
Dick's tombstone at Pleasant Hill Cemetery says that he was born on February 6, 1890 and died November 14, 1967.
