RICHARD MORGAN DIES IN FLORIDA

Word was received Monday of the death of Richard F. Morgan, 71, who died in St. Petersburg, Florida, last Saturday, February 22. His funeral was held Tuesday afternoon in St. Petersburg.

Morgan was born in Ireton and was a retired millwright for Rath Packing Company. He was a past commander of the Hawarden American Legion post, a lifelong member of D.A.V., a member of Hawarden's Last Man's Club, a former Hawarden Scoutmaster, and past noble grand Odd Fellow.

He is survived by his wife, Marvel H., three sons, Richard of Fort Worth, Texas, Robert E. of St. Petersburg, and Earl Bruce of Waterloo; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Smart of St. Petersburg; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Heumphreus of San Francisco, California, and eight grandchildren.

Poster's note: The Social Security Death record gives Mr. Morgan's birth date as May 27, 1897. According to the 1925 Iowa census, he was the son of Altha Garrett and Frank Morgan. He was married to the former Marvel H. Chenoweth.
