WUNDERINK FUNERAL HELD

Funeral services for Henry Wunderink, 82, of Ireton were held at 1:30 p. m. Saturday, April 13, at the Christian Reformed church in Ireton with Rev. John Rubingh officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery with Dow Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were Sam Westra, William Wissink, Sam Byker, Chris Westergard, Peter Feenstra, and James Geels.

Mr. Wunderink died Wednesday, April 10, at the Orange City hospital after a year's illness.

He was born in The Netherlands on February 13, 1886, and came to the United States when a young man. Before retiring and moving into town, he farmed an acreage in the southwest part of Ireton.

Survivors include the widow, who is at the Brentwood Nursing Home in Le Mars; two brothers and some step-children.

Poster's note: Mr. Wunderink lived in South Dakota for a number of years. He married Ethel Osterkamp on August 6, 1941 in Hughes County according to the South Dakota Marriage Index. His widow, Ethel Wunderink, was one of the executors of his estate. Mr. Wunderink's World War I draft registration card shows his birthday as February 13, 1887 not 1886 and his naturalization case file shows his birthdate as February 12, 1887. His tombstone also has a birth year of 1887.
