Mrs. Arthur Strong
Mrs. Arthur Strong, 87, of Hawarden died Dec 27 at the Hawarden Hospital.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Dec 30 in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Arthur J. DeNeui officiated. Burial in the Grace Hill Cemetery was under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home.
Mrs. Strong the former Charlotte Louise "Lula" Brown, was born Nov. 28, 1888 near LeMars. She was married Feb. 14, 1906 at LeMars. The couple lived in Plymouth County and Union County, S.D. and moved to Hawarden in 1937. Mr. Strong died Oct. 28, 1951.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Art Strong, Jr. and two daughters Mae Horner and Betty McManaman.
Survivors include three sons, Lloyd, Floyd and Harry, all of Hawarden: five daughters, Miss Mildred and Mrs Daisy Waterman, both of Hawarden, Mrs. Fern Hofteizer of Sioux Falls, S. D., Mrs. Pearl Mann of Sioux City and Mrs. Madeline Harn of Omaha, Neb.; 39 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.
