William H. Dierks, 79 of Hawarden died Friday morning at the nursing home in Hawarden.
Services were at 1:30p.m. Monday in the American Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Hansen officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home.
Mr. Dierks was born Nov. 25, 1898 at Gladbrook. He married Mabel Witt June 27, 1928 at Waukegan, Ill. The couple moved to Hawarden a short time after their marriage, Mrs. Dierks died July 1948.
Mr. Dierks farmed in the Hawarden area until his retirement in 1952.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Floyd ( Shirley) Albers of Hawarden and Mrs. Donna Hendricks of Pharr, Tex.; two sons, William K. of Fort Worth, Tex. and Myron of Chatsworth; two brothers, Fred of Sioux Center and Herman of Rock Rapids; 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
